Prompt and Profit is a private tool for publishing our own videos. It reads account details and uploads videos through permissions we grant ourselves, and it keeps that information on a server we control. We do not sell or share it.
Who we are and what this tool does
Prompt and Profit (“we”, “us”) creates short-form videos and publishes them to YouTube, Instagram and TikTok accounts that we own and operate. We do this with a private scheduling tool that we host ourselves.
The tool is used only by its owner. It is not offered to the public, there is no public sign-up, and we do not post on behalf of other people. This policy explains what happens to information when we connect our own accounts to the tool using OAuth.
Information we access
When we connect one of our own accounts, the platform asks us to approve specific permissions. Through those permissions the tool can access:
- YouTube (Google): basic channel information such as the channel ID, name and profile image; permission to upload videos to our own channel and set their title, description and visibility; and, where granted, read-only analytics for our own channel.
- Instagram (Meta): the account ID and username, the linked Facebook Page details needed to publish, and permission to publish videos (Reels) to our own account.
- TikTok: the account’s open ID, display name and profile image, and permission to post videos to our own account.
- Our own content: the video files, captions, titles and schedules that we load into the tool.
We do not access other people’s private data, and we do not collect personal information from visitors to this website.
How we use it
We use this information only to:
- publish and schedule our own videos on our own accounts;
- show our own account and channel names inside the tool; and
- view the performance of our own posts.
We do not use it for advertising, profiling or any purpose unrelated to publishing our own content.
Where it is stored and how it is protected
OAuth access tokens, account identifiers and scheduled content are stored on a private, self-hosted server that we control. They are not kept on any public platform or shared service. Access to the tool requires a login, and public sign-ups are switched off. Connections to the tool use HTTPS, relayed through Cloudflare’s network.
We keep tokens for as long as an account stays connected. We keep scheduled content until we delete it. When an account is disconnected or access is revoked, we delete the stored tokens and the data we obtained through that account’s API (see “Deleting your data” below).
YouTube API Services and Google user data
Our tool uses YouTube API Services to upload and manage videos on our own YouTube channel. By connecting a YouTube channel to the tool, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of your information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Our use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can revoke our tool’s access to a Google account at any time in your Google security settings (Google Account → Security → Third-party apps with account access).
Revoking access
You can remove our tool’s access to an account yourself at any time:
- Google / YouTube: myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Facebook: Settings → Apps and Websites, at facebook.com/settings?tab=applications.
- Instagram: Settings → Apps and Websites, at instagram.com/accounts/manage_access.
- TikTok: in the TikTok app, Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Apps and services permissions, then remove the app. Menu names can change, so look for the list of connected apps in your security settings.
Revoking access stops the tool from publishing to that account. See below for how stored data is deleted afterwards.
Deleting your data
To ask us to delete any data we hold, email tvhomeemail1234@gmail.com with the subject “Data deletion request”. We will delete the access tokens, account identifiers and any other data we obtained through your account within 7 days, and reply to confirm. If you revoke access through the platform’s settings, we delete the stored tokens and API data for that account within 7 days as well.
More detail is on our data deletion page. Videos that were already published remain on the platform where they were posted, and are managed through that platform.
Children
This website and the tool are not directed at children and are not used by anyone other than the owner.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the “last updated” date at the top.
